Moving and Shaking

And we're back! In all the commotion from closing, moving, working and school, our postings have fallen a little behind. We are far from "settled," but we're at least unpacked and moved in for now! Moving day came at the start of October, and we thankfully did it on separate days. Penny, myself, two men, and a truck made the trip from Charleston to our new home in Hardeeville.
(Handyman Joseph had already put in our mailbox and the American flag out front...now if only we could install our own garbage disposal!)

We had the house painted a lighter khaki since the original color was dark and almost orange-ish/gold in appearance. Painting was almost finished by the time we arrived...

Welcome to life with Katie! Complete unorganized chaos...my poor OCD husband-to-be is going to have his hands full.

Things started to look a little better once he got home :)

Yes we are those rednecks who have a living room on their screened-in porch! At least for now...

My pride and joy is the new dining room table we bought for the house. We found the perfect chairs at World Market to complement! Some assembly was required, and we made it through our first home project sans fighting.

Halfway there!

Finished product!

Between all the moving, unpacking, and cleaning, we managed to do a little exploring of Bluffton...Joseph has been here for two years, but there is still so much we have yet to do and see in our new town. We had dinner early on at a quaint diner-like restaurant called Cheeburger Cheeburger, where you get your picture taken with the pounder burger if you can finish it off!

More to come as the house and life progresses!
